UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn presided over the meeting on upgrading the Wazira Cinema into the Red-Carpet Theatre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Speaking at the event, the Union minister said the working committees and subcommittees are organized and assigned duties to upgrade the Wazira Cinema into the Red-Carpet Theatre. The Head of State also inspected the cinema and provided instructions. The cinema should be prepared not only for film screenings but also for multipurpose use in various artistic activities, and arrangements are to open in March 2026. In upgrading the Wazira Cinema, it is necessary to consider and arrange for parking spaces, and the flyover and underpass should be constructed to ensure convenient and smooth access to the cinema for the people.
Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, chairman of the working committee, reported on the activities of subcommittees for the upgrading of the cinema.
The chairpersons of subcommittees explained the air conditioning, electricity, maintenance, audio, lighting and projection activities.
Attendees coordinated the discussion, and the Union minister concluded the meeting. MNA/KTZH
