Social Security Board’s July 2025 statistics indicated that a total of 1,350,157 workers from 35,610 work places have been insured with the SSB.

There are three hospitals (two in Yangon Region and one in Mandalay Region) and a total of 240 clinics to provide health care to the insured workers in the regions and states.

“SSB runs ninety-six clinics. There are 61 contract clinics and 73 private clinics linked with the SSB for the Free for Service payment system, in which the Provider Purchaser Split Model is practised. There are over 240 clinics connected with the SSB, including 20 Labour rooms hospitals and clinics and one traditional medicine clinic,” said an official.

Furthermore, a mobile medical unit with four buses is also providing medical services to people. SSB’s officials are raising awareness of the benefits of the SSB insurance services at the respective departments.
