With the cooperation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and office of the Commander-in-Chief Office (Air), Tatmadaw aircraft dropped seed balls in the forest reserve areas of Tatkon Township in Nay Pyi Taw and Nyaungshwe Township in Shan State yesterday.
A total of 100,000 seed balls of five types of trees, such as Flea, Albizia procera, Delonix regia, Senna siamea and Leucaena leucocephala, were sprinkled by flight in the Hlwabon forest reserve block 20 (10.4 acres) in Nay Pyi Taw.
Similarly, 200,000 seed balls of three types of trees, such as raintree, Leucaena leucocephala and Acacia auriculiformis, were sprinkled by aircraft two times in the Inlay Lake Watershed area in Shan State.
Aerial seeding is a fast and cost-effective way to plant crops, enabling the cultivation of large areas with a small workforce, ensuring the possibility of using aircraft in mountainous and far-flung areas and covering vast areas within a short period of time.
The survey on the survival of plants from aerial seeding will be conducted in December 2025.
