Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Than Soe received Mr Michael Dunford, United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Representative in Myanmar, at the ministry’s meeting hall yesterday afternoon.

Both sides exchanged open and cordial views on coordination between the Government of Myanmar and United Nations agencies in carrying out earthquake response operations in Mandalay, post-earthquake recovery work, and humanitarian assistance. Discussions also covered collaboration with relevant regional and state governments, as well as concerned departments, in implementing these activities under the ministry’s coordination.
