Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Mr Michael Dunford, Representative and Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), United Nations Resident Coordinator ad interim and Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

They discussed cooperation in visa and stay permits for UN agencies, citizenship application processes for NV card holders from Rakhine State, temporary stay permissions in Yangon for UN/INGO staff and families from Rakhine State, according to the negotiation of UNRCO, and the returns depending on stability.

They also exchanged views on coordination for humanitarian aid mentioned in the MoU by WFP and collaboration with UNHCR on receiving displaced people back in Rakhine State.

Also present at the meeting were Deputy Minister U Htay Hlaing, the permanent secretary and officials.
