During the visit to Anning, China, to attend the 10th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related meeting, U Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar met Mr Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand yesterday and Mr Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China on the same day, respectively.

At the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, both sides updated the recent developments in their respective countries and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in border affairs.

During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, the two sides discussed matters related to bilateral relations and cooperation. The Union Minister also apprised his Chinese counterpart of the preparations for the upcoming election in Myanmar. In response, the Chinese Foreign Minister expressed the full support of China for the holding of the election and political development in Myanmar.
