The deposit for the return air ticket fee paid to the embassy in cash before has now been switched to direct payment to the embassy’s bank account, said the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul.

Myanmar women who married Korean nationals have to pay 570,000 Korean won as deposits for their return air ticket fee in order not to be inconvenienced on the return journey when they go back to Myanmar for some reason, and the embassy gives back the payment receipt.

Now, instead of cash payment, it will be switched to direct payment to the embassy’s bank account, taking effect from 18 August 2025, it said.

As of the effective date, the deposit for the return air ticket fee shall be paid directly to the embassy’s bank account in Korean won: 17489 0000 91501, Hana Bank and the payment receipt can be taken out at the embassy in person.

When the person requests the withdrawal of the deposit after three years from the day the deposit was paid, along with the original payment receipt, the embassy gives it back after verifying.
