VICE-CHAIRMAN of the State Administration Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win received a delegation led by Director-General of the Defence Intelligence Agency of the Indian Armed Forces and Deputy Chief of IntegratedDefence StaffLieutenant-General Shrinjay Pratap Singh, AVSM, YSM, at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, they frankly discussed further promotion of friendship between the two countries and the two armed forces and cooperation measures, rescue and relief teams and humanitarian aid from India dispatched to Myanmar at the time when the Mandalay earthquake hit, furter assistance in rehabilitation efforts, cooperation in peace, stability, the rule of law, security and development at border area of both countries, and the issue to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election in Myanmar with full essence.
After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and the Director-General of the Defence Intelligence Agency of the Indian Armed Forces and Deputy Chief of IntegratedDefence Staff exchanged gifts and had documentary photos taken together with attendees.
Also, present at the meeting were General Ye Win Oo from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and senior Tatmadaw officers. The Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency of the Indian Armed Forces and Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff was accompanied by Colonel Jaswinder Singh Gill, Defence Attache of India to Myanmar, and officials from the Indian Armed Forces.
