The Eastern Command opened its 2025 Commander’s trophy Thaing (Myanmar’s Martial Arts) Men’s and Women’s Tournament yesterday morning at the gymnasium of the training depot in Bahtoo.

Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Min Latt and officials, military personnel, family members, participating athletes, referees and invitees attended the opening ceremony.

The commander delivered a speech before attendees observed demonstrations and competitions, including Bando attack (Men’s, Class B, 49–53 kilogramme), Pancak Silat (Women’s, 50–55 kilogramme), and Single Sword (Men’s, 50–55 kilogramme) events.

The tournament is held under the supervision of the Eastern Command, with seven male and female teams from various battalions and units competing until 14 July.
