The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation held the first policy meeting with the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry and the European Union and on Nutrition Sector Reform Contract online yesterday.

The meeting aimed to coordinate for the implementation of the NSRC with the support of the EU and the COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan (CERP) in 2020-2021 financial year. Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Hla Kyaw, Deputy Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Maung Maung Win, officials and Directors-General from the respective departments and EU head of Cooperation at the office of EU Delegation Dr Johann Hesse participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister U Hla Kyaw, Deputy Minister U Maung Maung Win and Dr Johann Hesse delivered the opening speech respectively.

The respective Directors-General presented the improvement of the CERP, the Deputy Director-General for the Department of Planning presented the implementation of the NSRC programme linking the Myanmar Agricultural Development Strategy (ADS) with the Multi-Sectoral National Nutrition Plan (MS-NPAN), the Deputy Director for the Department of Planning briefed on the conditions for meeting the requirements in implementing the NSRC’s programmes in 2020-2021 financial year and the attendees suggested the best ways to implement the NSRC.
