A total of 17,566 domestic travellers visited Ngwetaung Beach, located in Hainggyikyun, Ngaputaw Township, Ayeyawady Region, during May 2025, according to Daw Ni Ni Mar, an executive member of the Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association (Ngwetaung Beach).
“In April 2025, 14,155 domestic visitors came to Ngwetaung Beach. But in May, the number increased to 17,566. We are seeing steady growth in domestic tourism to this beach. Travellers come here throughout the year, and the monthly number is increasing,” said Daw Ni Ni Mar.
To ensure visitors to Ngwetaung Beach can relax in a safe and peaceful environment, various services have been arranged. These include bicycle rental services, motorboat rentals, and horseback riding activities. Local food, souvenirs, and other regional products are also available for purchase at designated market stalls. Ngwetaung Beach is also a popular year-round destination due to its proximity to the Myat Mawtin Pagoda, a revered religious site.
The majority of visitors are from the Yangon Region and the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
