The Forum on Rebuilding Myanmar: Post-Earthquake Economic Recovery continued in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said the Head of State values the outcomes of the forum, and all the discussions are energetic, contributing to the economic sector and political affairs.

Economics and politics are intertwined and mutually dependent; all must accurately reflect on the current political situation in the country and think and act responsibly as truthful citizens for the sake of the nation’s interests. The results will be reported to the Head of the State to carry out for the development of the nation, he added.

Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn said efforts are being made for the farming products, meat, fish, industrial and tourism sectors through government-private cooperation to double the export volumes. The ministry also drafts the National Export Strategy (2026-2030).

Dr Zaw Oo, director of the Myanmar Narrative Think Tank, discussed the matters related to reforming processes, financial, trading, occupation, employees, insurance system, investment, education and healthcare sectors based on three major sectors like quake-stricken areas, manufacturing sector and infrastructure.

He also briefed the principles, approaches, working procedures, international criteria, priorities, short-term measures and outcome-based implementation achieved from the forum.

After the talk show, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn concluded the forum.
