ACCORDING to the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar, a delegation of basic education school headteachers of Myanmar visited Beijing and Tianjin, China, as part of efforts to enhance cooperation in the education sector between the two countries.
The study visit, which took place from 19 to 23 May, was organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary founding of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar and to promote educational exchange between the two nations.
The Myanmar delegation, comprising 14 school headteachers from both government and private schools under the Ministry of Education, represented Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Shan State, Ayeyawady Region, and Kayin State. During the visit, they toured notable sites such as the Great Wall of China, the Tiananmen Square, and the Lingguang Temple. The group also visited international schools and relevant cultural and educational institutions to observe and exchange practices.
The delegation travelled from Beijing to Tianjin by high-speed train, where they explored sites including Ancient Culture Street and the Porcelain House (also known as the China House). They also visited the Sino-German Vocational and Technical College in Tianjin and participated in a series of workshops.
During the discussions, topics such as improving national education standards, teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and vocational education for developing countries were addressed. Participants also shared their teaching experiences and educational practices.
