State Administration Council Member, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye, who also serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for Building Renovation and Reconstruction, visited the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday afternoon. These offices were damaged by the recent earthquake, and the inspection aimed to oversee their repair works and temporary office operations.

Accompanied by Union Ministers U Aung Kyaw Hoe and U Myo Thant, the SAC member first examined the proposed land areas designated for the construction of new buildings for the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union and the Ministry of Labour.

He then inspected the ongoing renovations at the Ministry of Labour’s ministerial office building, including efforts to reinforce the site with retaining walls. The team observed the prefabricated temporary offices currently in use for administrative functions. He instructed that any additional prefabricated offices scheduled to arrive should be immediately installed and made operational.

Later, the delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assess the completed construction of temporary prefabricated offices and the renovation of two existing buildings. He directed responsible officials to pre-allocate locations for upcoming prefabricated offices and to prepare detailed relocation plans. The officials also briefed the delegation on current progress, to which the General responded with coordination and guidance to address any necessary measures.
