State Administration Council Member Daw Dwe Bu visited Myitkyina in Kachin State on the afternoon of 24 May, where she first paid homage to the Vice-Chair of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and other senior monks. She and officials offered provisions and cash after receiving the Five Precepts and listening to Buddhist sermons. A merit-sharing ceremony was followed to share the merit.

Later, the SAC member, along with the Kachin State chief minister and members of the state government, met with leaders and officials from 16 religious organizations, including Buddhist and Christian groups, at the state government office hall. During the meeting, she said national peace and development require the unity and cooperation of all people. She highlighted the important role of religious organizations in fostering correct thinking and promoting compassion, encouraging religious leaders to share teachings aligned with their respective doctrines. She also emphasised the public’s active participation and stability as essential to holding the forthcoming general election.

Afterwards, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan delivered remarks, followed by discussions with the religious leaders, who presented their needs regarding religious affairs. The Chief Minister responded with additional explanations.

To commemorate the occasion, the SAC member and the chief minister presented souvenir flower baskets to the religious leaders, and the SAC member concluded with closing remarks.

Subsequently, the SAC member met with leaders from ethnic literature and cultural organizations across the state. During the meeting, she listened to concerns raised by the Kachin National Traditional Culture and Literature Association and leaders of ethnic groups, including six Kachin groups, five Shan groups, as well as Bamar, Kayin, Chin, and Rakhine representatives. They discussed issues such as land ownership for cultural organisations and challenges related to official registration.

The SAC member and the Chief Minister presented commemorative gifts to the cultural leaders. U Zaw Moe Naw, Chair of the Kachin National Traditional Culture Association, and Daw Khin Pyone Yi, Vice-Chair of the Kachin State Shan Cultural and Literature Association, expressed thanks on behalf of all groups.
