State Administration Council Member Daw Dwe Bu attended the opening ceremony of the three-day pre-monsoon MSME product exhibition, competition, and market fair, held under the supervision of the State Government at the Sitapu Manaw Ground at 9 am yesterday.
Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, his wife, the chief justice of the State High Court, state cabinet ministers and their wives, and the state advocate-general were also present at the ceremony.
In his opening speech, State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan emphasized that the event aims to encourage and promote MSME businesses in the State, foster the production of innovative products, increase the use of import substitutes, strengthen domestic market connectivity, and expand access to foreign markets. Additionally, an MSME product competition is being held to provide participants with experience for Union-level MSME exhibitions and competitions.
Following the speech, SAC Member Daw Dwe Bu, the Kachin State chief minister, the State government’s minister for Security and Border Affairs, and the economic minister cut the ribbon to inaugurate the market. They also posed for a group photo with attendees.
Afterwards, the SAC member and the state chief minister, accompanied by officials, toured exhibits showcasing State-produced agricultural and livestock products, local food products, cooperative and consumer affairs galleries, MSME products, and performances by the Kachin State government’s Malikha Band. They also visited consumer goods and local food stalls.
This is the fifth time the Kachin State government has organized the market fair to promote local MSME production and market access. A product competition is also being held, with 11 local MSME entrepreneurs participating.
