MPT is providing support for a workplace learning and training programme aimed at enhancing the knowledge and job-readiness of final-year students from 18 technological and computer universities across Myanmar. The initiative is intended to ease their transition into employment and to help young people develop greater expertise and practical experience. This information was shared by the MPT Head Office in Yangon.

As part of the 2025 training programme, around 180 students are undergoing both theoretical and practical training between April and June at MPT offices in 10 regions and states. The training covers various telecommunications technologies such as microwave, fibre, mobile communication, FTTH systems, as well as essential workplace knowledge in areas like Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and information security. Also, 55 students are receiving focused practical and theoretical instruction at MPT’s Network Centre and training facilities in Yangon.

“Young people are the future generation of our country’s development. Through the nationwide 2025 workplace learning and training programme, MPT is helping youth build the skills and knowledge needed to work in the communications sector. We believe this programme not only supports their professional development but also opens up employment opportunities,” said Mr Naoki Shimane, Advisor to the Operations Department at MPT.

MPT has also implemented a free online educational platform at https://csrelearning.mpt.com.mm/, offering accessible training for youth nationwide. The workplace learning and training programme was first launched in 2018 and has since provided over 2,000 students from technological and computer universities with practical training and industry-related knowledge.
