THE inspection team, led by U Kyaw Soe and U Than Win, members of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC), conducted an inspection visit to the HngetAw-San Boys’ Training School in Kawhmu Township, Twantay District, Yangon Region, on 20 May 2025 under Sections 43 and 44 of the MNHRC Law.

They inspected the situation of fundamental rights of the boys who are detained in the centre including healthcare services, food supply, provision of purified drinking water, adequate dormitories, availability of Citizenship Scrutiny Card, supporting programmes for physical and mental development as well as right to education, vocational training, communication with their families, reintegration with their families and freedom of religion. MNHRC also donated general knowledge books for the boys.

The MNHRC inspection team will send its findings and recommendations to the relevant department for necessary action under the MNHRC Law.
