TATMADAW members, Myanmar Police Force members, firefighters, rescue teams from foreign countries, departmental personnel, members of social welfare associations and residents tirelessly participate in ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts in the quake-affected areas.

Lt-Gen Thet Pon from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) overviewed the removal of debris at collapsed buildings at Kaunghmudaw Pagoda in Sagaing with the participation of Tatmadaw members, police members and other volunteers. He also visited the sites of clearing debris at Aungmyaylawka Pagoda, Mahiyingana Pagoda, SunU Ponnyashin and Shinpin Nankaing Pagodas, the brick bridge of Buddha Museum and Cultural Museum and the nunnery in Ananda Myitta Corner in Sagaing. Lt-Gen Thet Pon cut the ribbon to open the construction materials sale for the earthquake victims at the 700th Anniversary Stadium in Sagaing and viewed the construction of the affordable house. At the practising high school of Sagaing University of Education, he inspected preparations for students to conveniently learn education in the 2025-26 academic year and the construction of the temporary school building. He also fulfilled the needs of quake-affected people at the relief camp in Htonbo Ward with healthcare services. Lt-Gen Thet Pon inspected the beautification of Basic Education Middle School Branch in Htonbo Ward and the construction of the extended building of the BEHS Branch in Yannaing Ward of Sagaing.

Lt-Gen Soe Tint Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) observed reconstruction measures at BEHS No 1 in Amarapura Township, clearing of debris at the collapsed buildings at Basic Education Post-Primary School in Ohdaw Ward, Nagayon Pagoda and Maha Wizayayanthi Stupa. He also oversaw the reconstruction of pagodas and stupas in their original state.

Lt-Gen Myo Thant Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) attended the ceremony to provide relief supplies to families from the damaged houses at the hall in Singaing. Officials from the Kyaukse District General Administration Department presented bags of supplies containing 16 construction items to the earthquake victims. He visited the fibre cement plate factory of Sannshinn & Brother Co Ltd in Taungyin Village-tract of Singaing Township and viewed the production of Target brand fibre cement plates. He observed sales of construction materials to the people for the ninth day to rebuild damaged pagodas and religious structures. In the afternoon, he inspected the clearing of dangerous buildings with the use of heavy machinery in Ayemya Kyilin Ward of Kyaukse.

The inspection boards formed under the SOP have examined 6,947 earthquake-affected buildings under the standard operation procedure in Kyaukse District. They have classified 6,611 buildings of public residence to be repaired. A total of 336 out of 321 dangerous buildings have been cleared. Three of the remaining 15 buildings are being cleared under the relevant organizations, while 12 departmental buildings have been submitted to ministries for inspection. Lt-Gen Myo Thant Naing inspected the damaged staff housing of District GAD in Kyaukse and the land plot donated by well-wishers for the construction of temporary staff housing. — MNA/TTA
