State Administration Council Member, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo visited earthquake-affected sites in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area yesterday afternoon. He was accompanied by deputy ministers and senior officials. The inspection included Pyinmana Railway Station Yard and the Department of Information Technology and Cybersecurity.

The Deputy Prime Minister and his team arrived at Pyinmana Station in Pyinmana Township. They inspected repair work carried out at the train ticket office, which was damaged by the recent earthquake. They then observed the damaged buildings in the station yard, the repair progress of the power substation inside the yard, the post office building and the pedestrian overpass. He provided instructions to properly store traditional bricks and roof tiles and to prevent roofing sheets from being blown away.

He also instructed officials to urgently repair the signalling systems at train track crossings that were damaged by the earthquake. To speed up the repair process, he suggested inviting skilled workers, retired staff and experts familiar with the department’s operations to work together and come up with practical solutions.

General Mya Tun Oo also visited the Department of Information Technology and Cybersecurity in Zabuthiri Township. They checked the damage to the main office building and reviewed the status of temporary arrangements for essential equipment. They also examined how well cybersecurity services were continuing and visited the construction site of a new Data Centre Farm. He stressed the importance of ensuring safety for personnel, equipment and systems, and instructed officials to follow standards and build the facilities with full quality.

In the evening, the General and his team visited locations near Ministry Office 5 and Office 2 to inspect land areas prepared for constructing temporary housing for staff families affected by the earthquake.
