The National Volunteers Steering Committee and the Myanmar Medical Association jointly conducted an online seminar for ambulance drivers and paramedics from regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area yesterday.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement talked about the National Volunteers Steering Committee organized by the government for the volunteers to serve systematically while the Union Minister for MSWRR serves as secretary of the unit, jointly publishing of volunteer handbooks and volunteer trainers’ handbooks with MMA, proper use and disposal of PPE to prevent infection for the emergency-vehicle drivers and helpers.

He continued that the secretary office of National Volunteers Steering Unit gathered the volunteers for this awareness campaign and present campaign is the second time while the first one was conducted with 91 volunteers from Nay Pyi Taw Council, Kayah, Mon and Rakhine states on 13 October and expressed words of thanks to MMA members Prof. Dr Mya Thida, Prof. Dr Mar Mar Kyi, Dr Thaung Lin and Dr Thar Htet Aung for their participation.

He also discussed formation of ambulance, processes of ventilators, healthcare for patients with chronic diseases, proper use and disposal of PPE, guidance to treat the expectant mothers with COVID-19 and appreciated the participation of volunteers from Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing and Bago regions.

Vice-President of MMA Prof. Dr Mya Thida later briefed the reasons of awareness campaign while other attendees respectively coordinated the discussions.
