Malicious media outlets spread false news and fabricated stories, alleging that two children attending basic education school in Oogyitaw village, Wakema Township, Ayeyawady Region, have been notified to serve in the military and that schools are collecting lists of students who are only months away from turning 18.

Regarding this news, a responsible official from the township people’s military servants’ summoning body stated that the news is entirely untrue. They explained that the People’s Military Service Law specifies the age ranges of male and female conscripts, including skilled professionals, eligible for military service. It is understood that subversive media outlets are simply circulating false news and fabricated stories to incite and propagate misinformation regarding military service.
