The 78th anniversary celebration of the Ministry of Information’s Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) was held yesterday afternoon at the Auditorium of MRTV in Tatkon, Nay Pyi Taw.
It was attended by Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, departmental officials and MRTV staff.
First, the MRTV staff performed with “Athit Taphan Khit Thadan” song.
In his speech, the Union minister said the ministry is actively working for the sake of the country and people adapting the new, innovative and modern State-owned media format. In doing so, the MRTV is fully appreciated for its significant changes. Therefore, the staff should observe the changing technologies and skills to ensure innovative outcomes. All should make efforts for MRTV to uphold the trust of the government and officials.
Then, Director-General U Ye Naing of MRTV presented the medal marking the 79th anniversary of MRTV to the Union minister. The Union minister presented awards to 13 staff with 37 years of working experience, 21 staff who won the Good Public Service Medal and 9 Meter and supporting groups for creating the DTH system.
The Union minister’s wife also presented awards to those who won prizes in a short film competition for 2024 World Tourism Day initiated by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, a video competition for Anti-Corruption Day, and the 25th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition. The Union minister then presented awards to the prize-winning MRTV Team in the Union Minister Cup Sepak Takraw event and one third prize winner in the Karate event in the National Sports Festival.
Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, Director-General U Ye Naing and officials also presented awards to those who won the Excellent Award for Programme Production, the News Editing Broadcast Excellent Award, the News Presentation Excellent Award, the Industrial Excellent Award, the Filming Production Excellent Award, the Business Performance Award, and the Cleanliness and Beauty Operation Excellent Award.
The Union minister and the deputy minister then opened a lucky draw for the employees of Myanma Radio and Television and awarded prizes.
