Tatmadaw’s hospital ship ‘Thanlwin’, accompanied by mobile specialist medical teams comprising consultants, doctors, and nurses on board, has been providing healthcare services to residents along the Taninthayi coastal region, as well as to communities near Cocokyun Township in Yangon Region and Hainggyikyun in Ayeyawady Region.
The mobile medical team set up a temporary base at the Tatmadaw Hospital at Kyaung Thit Monastery in Chaungwa Village, Ngapudaw Township in Ayeyawady Region to provide healthcare services to 626 locals from the town and nearby villages.
The treatments included general medical consultations for 134 patients, surgical care for 55 patients, obstetric and gynaecological care for 26 patients, paediatric treatments for 59 children, orthopaedic care for 97 patients, ear, nose, and throat treatment for 39 patients, ophthalmology services for 123 patients, and dental care for 93 patients.
Moreover, two patients underwent general surgeries, 15 had X-ray examinations, 65 were tested using ultrasound, 68 underwent ECG heart screenings, and 80 had laboratory tests. Furthermore, arrangements were made for four patients requiring further treatment to be referred to nearby Tatmadaw hospitals.
