Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Soe Kyi received Mr Arnaud de Baecque, Resident Representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), at the ministry’s reception hall yesterday afternoon.

During the meeting, they openly exchanged views on promoting collaborative efforts between the ministry and ICRC in mine risk awareness and safety education, improving the capacity of personnel in this field, providing assistance to people affected by conflict and rehabilitation assistance initiatives of mine-affected people.

Directors-general of the Disaster Management Department and the Rehabilitation Department, relevant officials, and representatives from the ICRC were also present at the meeting.
