Two Tatmadaw vessels — the Shwepuzun and the Saku — arrived in Patoke Village, Kyaiklat Township, Ayeyawady Region, with Tatmadaw doctors, specialists and medical officers to provide healthcare services to the locals. The medical team was warmly welcomed by local officials, Tatmadaw personnel, town elders, teachers and students.
The medic teams stationed at Basic Education Middle School (branch) in Patoke village and conducted health services for 495 locals from the town and surrounding villages. The services included treatments for 205 individuals with general illnesses, 27 with surgical conditions, 17 with obstetric or gynaecological issues, 39 with paediatric diseases, 47 with orthopaedic issues, 32 with ENT conditions, 83 with eye diseases and 45 with dental problems.
In turn, 13 general surgery patients underwent procedures while two patients received eye surgery, 18 received X-ray tests, 31 were tested in ultrasound and 29 had ECGs performed to assess heart conditions. Furthermore, 49 patients underwent laboratory testing and seven individuals requiring hospital care were referred to nearby Tatmadaw hospitals and general hospitals for further treatment.
The relevant military personnel observed the medical services and comforted the locals under medical treatment.
