WITH the supervision of the Ministry of Health, the 53rd Myanmar Health Research Congress continued yesterday at the Department of Medical Research (DMR) headquarters in Yangon.

A total of 29 research papers were presented by various researchers during the event. In the morning session, experts from Yangon General Hospital and Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital shared their research findings. These sessions see senior doctors, faculty members and researchers who engaged in discussions and gave feedback.

Among the key speakers were health sector leaders such as Professor Dr Hla Hla Win, Professor Dr Nyo Nyo Wah, and Dr Han Win from the Department of Medical Research. Attendees, including specialists, fellow researchers and faculty totaling about 180 participants actively engaged with the paper presenters and offered questions and suggestions.

In the afternoon, several other important papers were presented by researchers from the Health Manpower Department, medical universities and hospitals across Myanmar. Topics included nursing and maternal health, food safety, and public health services. About 150 participants attended the afternoon sessions where they asked further questions and contributed to lively discussions.
