False reports claimed that security forces set fire to Wetpoke village in Myaing Township, Magway Region, on 25 December, destroying over 20 homes. These reports were denied by local security authorities.

An official stated that terrorists were responsible for the attacks, using heavy weapons and setting fires to create fear and disrupt peace. Malicious media falsely blamed security forces to mislead the public.

The official confirmed that security forces did not carry out any such actions and are working to protect local communities.
