State Duma Deputy Chair Mr Sholban Kara-Ool conducted a lecture titled “Russia and Friendly Countries in a Multipolar World” yesterday afternoon at Naypyitaw State Academy (NSA) for students.

The Russian ambassador and delegation, NSA Pro-Rectors Dr Nu Nu Lwin and Dr Soe Soe Aung, professors, departmental heads, faculty members, and students attended the event.

In his lecture, the Deputy Chair discussed key topics, including protecting national sovereignty, preserving cultural heritage, promoting national interests, and enhancing Myanmar-Russia cooperation in economic and trade sectors. He emphasized human resources development through postgraduate and language programmes in Russian universities. Furthermore, he highlighted opportunities for Russian students to study at Myanmar universities under mutual exchange programmes. The session concluded with an interactive questions-and-answers session where Mr Kara-Ool addressed participants’ enquiries.

Later, the Deputy Chair met Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) Chair U Khin Yi at the party headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the evening, the USDP chairman hosted a dinner in honour of the Russian delegation at the Park Royal Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.
