At the invitation of the organizing committee of the People’s Republic of China’s International Trade and Investment Expo, a delegation led by Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance Daw Than Than Lin attended the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen, China, from 7 to 11 September.
The event was attended by senior government officials, representatives from investment promotion agencies, and business firms from over 100 countries.
On 7 September, the delegation also participated in the 22nd-anniversary conference of the PRC’s Investment Promotion Agencies Federation, where they presented Myanmar’s investment procedures, potential for investment, and opportunities for cooperation.
The Deputy Minister and her team attended the opening ceremony of CIFIT on 8 September.
In the afternoon, they took part in discussions on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), focusing on the benefits of regional economic cooperation and Myanmar’s potential involvement in RCEP.
Additionally, the delegation visited Xiamen’s independent trade zone, micro and medium-sized industrial businesses, and the “Invest in China Dialogues between Specialized and New Enterprises and Hidden Champions” Expo. The delegation returned to Yangon yesterday evening.
