Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) notified warehouse operators on 3 July that warehouse operators would have to register and update inventory lists.
The MRF announced that the warehouse operators and wholesalers need to seek registration on Myanmar Rice Online (MyRO) through www.myro.com.mm for procurement of more than 5,000 baskets of paddy and over 50 tonnes of rice. The registered warehouse owners are notified through SMS to update their monthly reports within the first seven days of every month.
The Ministry of Commerce has organized scrutinizing committees for rice storage, and regions and states set prices accordingly. Authorities concerned are conducting a tour visit to check warehouses to see whether they comply with rules and regulations and whether their inventory lists are correct or not. Those who fail to do so will face strict action.
The warehouse operators who store Shwebo Pawsan, Ayeyawady Pawsan, Ayeyamin, 90-day short-matured rice, Ayapadetha, Anatha, Pakan and Panthi Thukha for commercial purposes need to register on MyRO by 7 July. Those who cannot proceed with registration by the deadline need to submit the list of inventories to the MRF. — NN/KK
