SUPERVISED by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, action is being taken under the law against illicit trading across the nation.

On 23 June, an on-duty team under the supervision of the Taninthayi Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force impounded 2,400 bottles of soybean oil (each containing one litre) valued at K8 million without official documents at a warehouse in Boatchaung Ward in Myeik. The action was taken under Customs procedures.

On 24 June, the combined teams captured illegal teak weighing 5.453 tonnes and other illegal timbers weighing 1.688 tonnes worth K3.159 million in Bago, Toungoo and Thayawady districts, and 55 kinds of goods valued at K447.658 million, including 89 cartons of LifePo4-280 Ah batteries without official documents, in Sagaing Township. The action was conducted under the Forest Law and the Export and Import Law. Therefore, six arrests (estimated value of K458.817 million) were made on 23 and 24 June, according to the committee.
