THE second day of the meeting between the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the working group of political parties continued at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Union Minister for Border Affairs NSPNC Chairman Lt -Gen Tun Tun Naung, committee members, Dr Aung Myat Oo, leader of the political parties’ working group and CEC member of the Union Solidarity and Development Party and representatives attended the meeting.
During the meeting, participants considered points from the Constitution (2008) that should be amended, which was not completed on the first day of the meeting. General discussions and mutual negotiations on the building of a union based on democracy and federalism followed. The opinions obtained from the two-day discussions of both sides were then collected and recorded.
Dr Aung Myat Oo, the leader of the working group of the political parties and the Central Executive Committee member of the Union Solidarity and Development Party, gave words of thanks. Afterwards, National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Chairman Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung concluded the meeting.
