The medical specialist teams including professors and physicians from Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw are offering the medical treatments in the States and Regions. Medical specialist teams from Yangon General Hospital, Yangon Specialist Hospital (500-bed) travelled to Hpa-an in Kayin State on 8 and 9 June and gave the medical treatment to local people.
Over the course of these medical trips, a total of 1,496 patients, including individuals from seven townships of Kayin State, two townships of Mon State and surrounding areas, received treatment for a range of medical conditions. These conditions encompassed cardiac diseases, gastrointestinal issues, neurological ailments, neurosurgery, among others.
The medical check-ups included various procedures such as Echocardiography, Oesophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy (OGD) Scope, Colonoscopy, CT scans, glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) tests, X-ray examinations, ultrasound scans, and electrocardiograms (ECG). The medical team provided treatment to two patients requiring neurosurgery.
Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo and officials comforted and provided nutritional support to the patients. They also provided cash assistant for medical service of the specialist teams.
These medical specialist teams conducted field trips in 2024. These medical teams have travelled to Taunggyi, Pyay, Thandwe, Pathein, Mawlamyine, Magway, Myeik, NyaungU, Myitkyina, Hinthada, Dawei and Kengtung. The medical team will travel to Kawthoung.
