U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, separately received Mr Mutaz Abdullah Abduljaleel Mohamed Al Faheem, Ambassador-designate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and Mrs Ponnamperuma Arachchige Prabashini Ponnamperuma, Ambassador-designate of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

During the call, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs congratulated the UAE Ambassador for his appointment as the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the strengthening of the existing bilateral relations between Myanmar and UAE, mutually beneficial cooperation, including trade and investment sectors, and enhancement of collaboration in the regional and international arenas.

During the meeting with the Sri Lankan Ambassador, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs extended congratulations to the ambassador for the latter’s appointment as Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar. They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further advancement of the existing friendly bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, as well as continued collaboration in rendering consular assistance for Sri Lankan nationals in Myanmar.
