UNION Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin received Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Iskander Azizov yesterday.

During the meeting, the two parties exchanged views on the attendance of Myanmar monks and people at the second Traditional Buddhism and Modern Challenges to be held in Buryatia of Russian Federation, signing agreement to launch the construction of the Russian Orthodox Church in Yangon, agreement on cooperation between the Russian Federation National Library and Myanmar National Library, technical assistance for the conservation of archaeological research materials, arts programmes, cooperation in library maintenance techniques and enhancement of cooperation in religious affairs and cultural sectors in future based on the existing bilateral relations.

Deputy Ministers U Aye Tun and Daw Nu Mra Zan, the permanent secretary and relevant officials also attended the event.
