UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn received Mr Iskander Azizov, Russian Ambassador to Myanmar, at the reception hall of the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

During the meeting, they frankly and cordially exchanged views on media sector cooperation, collaboration between The Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper and Russia’s Sputnik Information Agency, the MoU signing of Russia-Myanmar television sectors, exchange of visits by media personnel from the two countries, further promotion of the tourism sector between Myanmar and Russia, and other cross-sectoral collaborative efforts.

Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, Permanent Secretary U Win Kyaw Aung, heads of departments and diplomats from the Russian Federation Embassy attended the meeting.
