THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Myanmar has issued a notification advising against the use of unregistered drugs, including Coralan-5, which are sold in the market.
The FDA conducts regular testing of medicines and has found that unregistered drugs are sold without any guarantee of quality, effectiveness, or safety. To inform the public and prevent the use of these drugs, the FDA has published a notice displaying photos of both the registered and illegal versions of the drugs.
The drugs that should not be used include brands such as Coralan-5, Coveram-5/10, Coversyl, Daflon-500/1000, Diamicron MR, Vistaril OD, and Vistaril MR. The illegally imported drugs lack a Myanmar FDA registration number and have text written in Turkish.
In contrast, officially imported drugs carry a Myanmar drug registration number and have text written in English.
