The Bangladesh New Year Day celebration took place on the evening of 10 May at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Yangon, Myanmar.

Among the attendees were Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and his wife, Yangon City Mayor U Bo Htay and his wife, Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar Dr Md Monwar Hossain, as well as ambassadors and charge d’affaires from foreign embassies in Yangon, along with other invitees.

During the event, Dr Md Monwar Hossain, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar, conveyed New Year greetings.

Following this, Regional Chief Minister U Soe Thein, his wife, and the guests enjoyed various performances including Bangladeshi song “Boishakhi Song”, Myanmar puppet dance, snake tricks, and a magic show.

Subsequently, the ambassador hosted a New Year dinner to all attendees at the ceremony.
