SENIOR General Min Aung Hlaing spotted that disseminating legal knowledge can contribute to forging the rule of law and justice as well as building a country free from corruption.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address at the opening of the Legal Advocacy Centre (LAC) of the Ministry of Legal Affairs in Zawana Theikdi Ward of Ottarathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

The Senior General sprinkled scented water on the plaque of the centre and watched a video clip on the new building.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said that the law is a prescribed provision by which all citizens and people residing in the nation must abide.

He continued that the newly-opened Legal Advocacy Centre is beneficial for the State in widely disseminating legal knowledge to all.

The Senior General stressed the need to accumulate legal knowledge for initiating the peace and stability of the nation, the rule of law and the socioeconomic development of the people, adding administrative authorities need to be skillful in legal affairs for their management measures and follow the laws.

As such, the Senior General added that all arts and science universities teach law subjects to confer BA (Law) degrees on graduates, and other significant universities give training to the students to get LLB degrees. Hence, he urged all legal experts in Myanmar to try hard to become international legal experts.

He disclosed that thanks to the centre, government service personnel and those in law careers will have chances to make further study from on-job training.

The Senior General instructed all to adopt better tactics for successfully implementing the legal knowledge dissemination process and ensure the long-term existence of the centre so that State service personnel and those in law careers can continue their studies at the centre.

Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr Thi Da Oo reported on undertaking legal affairs and conducting the legal knowledge courses.

The Senior General and party visited the centre.

Before the opening ceremony, SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Council members General Mya Tun Oo and Admiral Tin Aung San, Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr Thi Da Oo and Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant cut the ribbon to open the centre.
