MYANMAR representatives attended the 12th High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community Post2025 Vision Meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 4 and 5 October.

Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Wah Wah Maung, also a leader of the high-level working group on developing the ASEAN Community 2025 Vision of Myanmar, put forward a presentation at the meeting.

U Zaw Zaw Soe, Deputy Director-General of ASEAN Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the officer in charge of the subject also attended the meeting as a support group.

The meeting discussed the 2045 ASEAN Community Vision Strategic Plans, extensive consultation and coordination with relevant ASEAN organizations, and the schedule and process to be done.

Deputy Minister Dr Wah Wah Maung said that in the development of the strategic plans of the 2045 ASEAN Community Vision, due to the development gap between the ASEAN member countries, narrowing the gap should continue to be a priority.

“More cooperation should be exerted due to gaps in economic, intellectual, organizational, and digital technology development between ASEAN member countries and people. According to the state of discussion and coordination between the relevant ministries and organizations in the country, Myanmar will fully cooperate in the strategic process as it is a responsible member of ASEAN,” she said.

The 2045 ASEAN Community Vision, drawn up with the theme of “A vibrant, robust and innovative people-centred ASEAN”, was finalized at the 11th HLTF meeting of the High-Level Working Group and approved by the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

The vision will continue to be implemented between 2025 and 2045. ASEAN Political. Security Community (APSC), the Economic Community (AEC), the Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) and the ASEAN Integrated Communication Coordinating Committee (ACCC).
