ANTI-GOVERNMENT media DVB has spread fake news, quoting the AAPP record and research division, that a total of 12 residents – four females and eight males – have died between 1 and 29 November due to the attacks of Tatmadaw in Rakhine State. Malicious media outlets create misinformation in various sectors, leading to instability and unrest in the country and causing disintegration between the people and Tatmadaw and misconceptions about Tatmadaw internationally.
Tatmadaw abides by the rules of engagement (ROE) in launching counter-terrorism operations to ensure State stability and the rule of law and to protect the people’s lives. The malicious media spread misinformation. Tatmadaw has never opened fire into the villages with heavy weapons, whereas the insurgents intentionally launch attacks in townships and villages with heavy weapons, resulting in causalities and injuries.
