FAKE news that 17 soldiers from the Thanlyin Naval Base, Yangon Region have absconded bringing weapons and munition has been intentionally spread through social media.

However, according to the credible information from the military source, there is no such desertion from the Thanlyin Naval Base. These false news are mere misinformation deliberately published on social media aiming to undermine the military unity amongst Tatmadaw members, their families and the public.
