CHILLI pepper, onion and fisheries are primarily exported through the Myawady border.
Myanmar sees increasing demand for food raw materials from Thailand and the main export items through the Myawady border are chilli pepper, onion and fisheries, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
Myanmar exports chilli pepper, cabbage, onion, sesame, black gram and fisheries such as dried swim bladder, crab, shrimp, minced fish, anchovy, grouper fish, snakehead fish, and tongue fish.
Thailand’s demand for raw materials for the food industry has risen with the restaurants and food businesses in Thailand growing. While screening export items, Myanmar prioritizes perishable goods such as fisheries and green commodities – onions and chilli pepper to ensure smooth exports.
