Recently, there have been reports on social media networks about people being forcibly taken as porters in Yangon, and in some townships, there is less traffic on nighttime roads than ever before. It has been observed that as soon as night falls, there are fewer people, early closing of shops, and workers returning home early.

According to a spokesperson for the Yangon government, these statements are only false news. Misinformation is being disseminated in a bid to stoke misunderstanding upon the government, Tatmadaw, and relevant administrative organizations, and fear in the public.
