STATE Administration Coun­cil Member Dr Ba Shwe, ac­companied by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and officials, paid homage to Lawkananda pagoda and Sak­kya Muni Buddha Image and met departmental officials af­ter inspecting the universities and rehabilitation activities in Sittway Township of Rakhine State yesterday.

During the meeting, the SAC member highlighted the political objective of the SAC, the key role of the Union spirit, the well-educated population to develop a nation, efforts of the government to promote the education level of citizens and measures to enhance the development of agriculture and live­stock sectors of Rakhine State.

The state chief minister and attendees then reported on the regional peace, rule of law, expansion of the local pro­duction sector and regional de­velopment programmes.

The SAC member and par­ty proceeded to Sittway Uni­versity, Technological Univer­sity (Sittway) and University of Computer Studies (Sittway) and met with rectors, prorectors, professors/department heads, faculty members and students.

At noon, the SAC member and party went to Detlel Mon­astery, Nanda Yama Monastery and Kywa Phyu Monastery in Sittway and paid homage to Pre­siding Sayadaws and offered Waso robes and donations.

They also inspected the up­grading of Sittway Point resort, repairing of Shukhintha road (from Sartaik junction to Sit­tway hotel) and road expansion works in the evening.
