THOSE who want to establish a political party are applying to the Union Election Commission by stating the name of the party they want to establish.
To date, there have been 14 parties that have applied for the right to establish parties.
Among those that applied, the Labour Party and Union Peace and Unity Party are found to comply with the political parties’ registration law and regulations, and the Union Election Commission approved the application for the establishment of the political parties yesterday.
The two parties must apply to the Commission for their registrations under Rule 7 of the Registration of Political Parties within 30 days from the date of approval. To date, 10 political parties have been allowed to be established and the other parties that have applied for party establishment are also being scrutinized.
