RESPONDING to invitations from both the host nation, Indonesia, and the ASEAN a delegation led by Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, a Member of the State Administration Council and the Union Minister for Home Affairs, embarked on a flight from Yangon to Indonesia yesterday morning.

The purpose of the delegation’s journey is to participate in the 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Combatting Transnational Crime, along with associated meetings set to convene in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia from 20 to 23 August.

This important event will draw the participation of ministers and high-ranking officials from all ten ASEAN member countries, in addition to the ASEAN secretary-general and relevant officials.

A series of related meetings with ASEAN plus 3 (China, Japan and Korea) are also anticipated, along with individual sessions with each of the mentioned nations, and separate ministerial-level discussions.
