KAYIN State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo on Monday provided bags of rice, textbooks, teacher handbooks, stationeries and fertilizer to members of KNU/ KNLA-PC and their families in Htokawkoe of Kawkareik Township of Kayin State where the KNU/KNLA-PC is located.

The event was launched with the greeting speeches of the chief minister and chairman of KNU/ KNLA-PC Saw Htaw Lay.

The chief minister then presented 3,980 pairs of KG to Grade 12 textbooks, 3,980 dozen of notebooks, 160 teacher handbooks, 1,128 dozen of pencils, and 200 dozen ball pens provided by the Ministry of Education for a total of 3,980 students from 36 schools operated by KNU/KNLA-PC, including rice and stationeries of the Ministry of Border Affairs, 200 bags of urea fertilizer and 100 bags of natural fertilizer of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.

The chief minister and party inspected the completion of a 60-foot Bailey bridge, an emergency bridge constructed after heavy rainfall that destroyed the approach road of a 20-footbridge on the Htokawkoe-Kyawkoh road section. They also headed to basic education high school in Nabu Village and provided 100 dozens of books and K500,000 for the students and teachers.

On arrival at the 16-bed Nabu station hospital, they comforted the patients and provided foodstuffs and cash to the patients and health staff.
