THE demonstration of the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine and trial voting was held yesterday morning at the meeting hall of the Ministry of the Union Government Office in Nay Pyi Taw.
UEC member U Ko Ko Lwin first explained the Myanmar electronic voting machine (MEVM). Subsequently, the UEC official explained the construction of MEVM, the control unit, the ballot unit, the verification unit, ballot boxes and batteries. He dwelt on installed machines and their purposes, counting the results from the voting machine, packing, storing and security of the voting machine.
UEC member U Aung Lwin Oo also briefed all on the objectives of building the MEVM before the discussions were followed up. Officials then observed the Myanmar electronic voting machine and conducted test voting.
In the afternoon, UEC officials visited the Ministry of Industry and held briefings and demonstrations of the voting through MEVM and 85 personnel carried out voting trials.
